Who we are
PetrieUK is run by Steven Petrie, a sole trader based in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. He is responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact him at Steven@PetrieUK.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use the enquiry form we receive your name, email address, business name, the service you're interested in and your message. If you email us, we receive whatever you include.
Like most websites, our host also keeps short-term technical logs of visits, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run the site securely. We don't use these to identify you.
Why we use it
Only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if you become a client, to deliver the work. The legal basis is that you've asked us to respond, and taking steps towards a contract with you. If you become a client we keep the records the law requires for tax and accounts.
We don't sell your details, and we won't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who handles it and where
The website and its form are run by Netlify, Inc., and enquiries are delivered to our Microsoft 365 email. Netlify is based in the United States, so form submissions and visit logs may be processed there. Transfers are covered by the UK's approved safeguards for international data transfers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for six years after the work ends, as required for tax.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, at any time by emailing Steven@PetrieUK.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and browser storage
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, so there's nothing to accept or decline.
The demos keep their sample data in the page only, and it's cleared when you close or reset them. The games save your progress and settings in your own browser's storage; that stays on your device and is never sent to us. Everything the site needs, including fonts, is served from our own site.
